As a first time parent, I was in AWE of the nurses who would swaddle my baby such that she would not be able to get her hands free. It was a skill I never really mastered. That was 3 1/2 years ago (and I’m sure there were helpful products, I just didn’t have one), but now there is a wonderful product called the Woombie.
The Woombie is a cross between a sleep sack and a swaddler and seems to be a very useful product. The creator of the Woombie products is a mom/RN who wanted a safe way to swaddle her baby.
The Woombie is made of stretchy material (cotton/spandex blend) that is breathable. This is important to prevent S.I.D.S. and overheating. The Woombie comes in 4 sizes and it’s very important to get the right size, which is determined by weight of the baby.
Since I don’t have an actual baby right now, I borrowed one of Lila’s dolls for my demonstration (obviously the Bitty Baby is smaller than a real baby).
There are only 4 simple steps to securing the Woombie on the baby. Ideally, you will be doing this on a calm baby, so as to make everyone happier.
It is super easy to position the baby and it even has a double zipper! Genius! 
It seems like the makers of the Woombie have perfected the swaddler and I’m excited to use it. I plan on using the Woombie from the day we get home from the hospital.
